Dit weekend organiseerden Seppe-Hazel Laeremans en Joram De Cocker een masterclass voor onze residenten ter voorbereiding op onze laatste tentoonstelling met deze groep: The Book Launch! Vertrekkend vanuit hun theorieën rond ‘Blossoming’ en ‘Withering’, werden verschillende aanwijzingen, suggesties en materialen aangereikt om mee aan de slag te gaan.

Als uitdaging werden onze eigen ‘failures’, ontstaan tijdens deze residentieperiode, heroverwogen. De beelden, bewegingen en gesprekken die ontstonden tijdens dit moment zullen door Joram en Seppe-Hazel worden omgezet in een beeldtaal die tegelijkertijd zal worden gebruikt voor de vormgeving en scenografie van de poster, catalogus en de groepstentoonstelling.
Wat informatie over Seppe-Hazel (die/hun) en Joram (hij/die):
Sinds 2023 houden Seppe-Hazel en Joram zich samen bezig met de eco-queer mogelijkheden die ‘blossoming’ (bloesemen) en ‘withering’ (verwelken) te bieden hebben. Zo nu en dan komen ze samen om de heuvels in te trekken, te zwemmen in de rivier en hun dagen te vullen het bijhouden en loslaten van wervelende gedachten, vruchtbare oogsten en (woord)spelletjes. In maart gaven ze een collectieve lees-workshop in EKA GD’s Stand-in School in Berlijn.

This weekend, Seppe-Hazel Laeremans and Joram De Cocker organized a masterclass for our residents in preparation for our final exhibition with this group: The Book Launch! Drawing from their theories of ‘Blossoming’ and ‘Withering’, various prompts, suggestions, and materials were provided to work with.

As a challenge, our own ‘failures’, arising during this residency period, were reconsidered. The images, movements, and conversations that arose during this moment will be translated by Joram and Seppe-Hazel into a visual language that will be simultaneously used for the design and scenography of the poster, catalog, and group exhibition.
Some information about Seppe-Hazel (they/them) and Joram (he/they):
Since 2023, Seppe-Hazel and Joram have collectively been essaying on the eco-queer possibilities of Blossoming and Withering. Every now and then they gather for hikes uphill, swims in the river, and afternoons filled with foraging fruits, playing games and swirling thoughts. In March they gave a collective reading-workshop in EKA GD’s Stand-in School in Berlin.
