Liesbeth Feys (1989°) geeft vorm aan haar ideeën door middel van publicaties en multiples. Ze speelt met de wisselwerking tussen de publicatie als object en de inhoud ervan. Soms worden de publicaties gemaakt in samenwerking met anderen, vaak komen ze tot leven in interactie met het publiek. Haar praktijk als docent van beeldateliers met kinderen, het spel en kinderlijke verbeelding vormen hiervoor de voedingsbodem.

Tijdens onze tentoonstellingen richten we ons niet op afgewerkte producten, maar eerder op een moment waar denkprocessen en artistieke praktijken kunnen bezichtigd worden. Elke resident start met een zelf gekozen onderzoeksvraag die ze in relatie tot hun eigen praktijk en de ruimte plaatsen. In dit geval koos Liesbeth voor Wₕₐₜ ᵢf ₗᵢₙₑₛ bᵣₑₐₖ ₋ ᵤₚ. Naast diverse uitdagingen en activiteiten biedt dit moment de mogelijkheid om het artistieke proces verder te verkennen. Hoe gaat Liesbeth om met de ruimtelijkheid van de locatie en het formaat van een boek? Welke elementen van andere activiteiten, zoals de masterclass, betrekt ze in dit proces? En hoe verbindt ze dit met haar onderzoek rond het concept van een ₐₙₜᵢ cₒₗₒᵣᵢₙg bₒₒₖ ?

Liesbeth Feys (1989°) brings her ideas to life through publications and multiples. The interaction between a publication as an object and it’s content is crucial in this process. Sometimes, the publications are created in collaboration with others; often, they come to life through interaction with the audience. Her role as a teacher in visual arts, the aspects of play, and childlike imagination all provides a rich foundation for her research.

During our exhibitions, we don’t focus on finished products, but rather on a moment where thought processes and artistic practices can be experienced. Each resident starts with a self-chosen research question that they juxtapose in relation to their own practice and the space. In this case, Liesbeth chose Wₕₐₜ ᵢf ₗᵢₙₑₛ bᵣₑₐₖ ₋ ᵤₚ. Besides various challenges and activities, this moment offers the opportunity to further explore the artistic process. How does Liesbeth deal with the spatial aspects of the location and the format of a book? Which elements from other activities, such as the masterclass, does she incorporate into this process? And how does she connect this with her research on the concept of an ₐₙₜᵢ cₒₗₒᵣᵢₙg bₒₒₖ ?
